Just too ridiculous for me!

The Hundred-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out of the Window and Disappeared - Jonas Jonasson

I persevered with this book because it was a book group read, but I did not find it amusing at all and I really struggled to finish it. It was just too far fetched to be believable.

I could totally relate to Allan Karlsson in deciding to escape from his own one hundred birthday celebration, after all, who'd want to share it with the mayor and the press? But the chain of events that followed, involving criminals, a stolen suitcase and an elephant, were just farcical. On top of that Allan Karlsson turns out to have had an equally unbelievable life, inventing the atom bomb and hobnobbing with presidents, really??!

Suitable for lovers of farce, or maybe fantasy!
